The ABP will be presented on 1st March 2016 in Nairobi (Kenya), on the occasion of the International Workshop “Biochar Systems for Africa”, organized in collaboration with “Biochar for Sustainable Soils” project.

The “Biochar Systems for Africa” International Workshop pursues the following main objectives:

ECREEE - Developing Renewable Energy Sectors and Technologies in West Africa

Facing the facts: The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is comprised of the 15 sovereign States of Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, the Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo—united in their collective desire to achieve regional integration in all sectors of economic activity, as well as in social and cultural spheres.

The first International Fair on Environment and Renewable Energy (FIAER 2016) emerged as an innovative and pioneering event in Cabo Verde and its purpose was to drive forward the Renewable Energy sector. In Cabo Verde,  the sector is considered to be a strategic pillar to substantially reduce external dependence through the production of clean and environmentally friendly energy for the construction of “a dynamic, competitive, innovative and sustainable economy, and of prosperity shared with all”.
