From the 27th to the 29th of October 2010, ECREEE participated in the Delhi International Renewable Energy Conference (DIREC 2010) hosted by the Government of India and supported by REN21. Regional Workshop on the ECOWAS Solar Energy Initiative (ESEI)

ECREEE will hold a Regional Workshop on the ECOWAS Solar Energy Initiative (ESEI) from 18 to 21 October 2010 in Dakar, Senegal. The forum will highlight the potentials, benefits, costs and feasibility of solar energy based solutions for electricity generation, heating and cooling. A solar deployment plan for the ECOWAS region will be discussed and a road map adopted. Please register at latest by 12 October 2010.

The action plan of the 3rd ECOWAS Business Forum, held in Abidjan on 1st October 2010, calls the ECOWAS Commission to declare the decade of energy sufficiency and recommends the development of minimum renewable energy targets which ECOWAS member states should adhere to and implement.
